My students asked me about the honor killing culture in Afghanistan, my native country. I had heard of the stories, but I did not fully understood or absorbed the full impact of the meaning of "honor killings". The question evoked my curiosity and wanted to share my findings.

This is book is based on actual events still occurring in many parts of the world. It reveals the realities of "honor killings" and other unspeakable acts committed against girls and women, usually carried out by their own family members.
